About the Founder

Bernd Nürnberger

Made in Germany.
Graduated electrical engineer.
Moved to Japan in 1986.

For nearly 40 years, I worked in Japan for a German company.
Not making products, but breaking them.

Applying and coaching international standards.
Interpreting requirements for safety testing.
Assessing risks and management systems.
And when everything passed, certifying.

The company has done this work for over 150 years.
My role was to uphold clarity and integrity inside complex systems.

From Testing Products to Building Systems

In 1986, our Asia team counted 30 colleagues — 27 in Japan, 3 in Taiwan.

By 2006, we were 3,000 across Asia and Oceania.

That growth — 25% CAGR over 20 years — did not happen through pressure or slogans.

It happened through:

  • serving clients with impartial testing and assessment
  • coaching people for competence and responsibility
  • aligning professional standards across cultures
  • building capable teams who earn trust with clients
  • improving tools and systems

I helped initiate six key innovations during that time, each designed to make the organization stronger, clearer, and more independent.

Growth, for me, means systems that work without heroic effort.

From Corporate Executive to Free Agent

Today, I operate as an operations-focused solopreneur.

After decades inside large systems, I now work independently — applying the same principles:

  • find and deliver what the client needs
  • standards before scaling
  • neutral, impartial, confidential

I help along the way — building structures that grow people, independence, and support organizations to function more freely.

Certified Coach,
Growth Practitioner,
Advisor, Builder

In October 2024, I became a Certified Business Coach.

I now assist individual clients and corporate teams as

  • bilingual coach and mentor
  • co-creative growth practitioner
  • quality system builder and advisor

Coaching, for me, is not about raising motivation.
It is about helping clients grow and build self-trust.

Why Language Coaching?

Most language learners are not lacking intelligence.
They are studying inside systems not well aligned with their goals.

They learned to wait, to translate, to shield from error.

With German Language Factory, we use a different system:

  • Play your role as you, speak early
  • Reduce anxiety, mistakes are for learning
  • Practice on your own, build skill and independence

The method worked well for me, I finally speak Japanese.
Here, my role is to protect the integrity of that system,
as Founder, Principal Coach, and Auditor.

A Consistent Thread

Across engineering, corporate growth, quality systems, and coaching, the thread has remained the same:

  • Clarify what matters
  • Build structures that support it
  • Remove what causes dependency
  • Lead people to operate independently

That is what German Language Factory stands on.

Why I Do It This Way

Let me invite you to a blog post about my own language learning.
